Typically Cranberry Lake at Deception Pass Park is crazy busy at this time of year. Given COVID-19 restrictions, however, most activity has taken place on weekends. Regardless, an early morning visit to this beautiful corner of our awesome neighborhood park yields greater opportunity for a peaceful walk. There is much to enjoy.
Except for a solo fisherman, this paddleboarder had Cranberry Lake all to herself Tuesday morning. Solitude becomes a rare thing at Deception Pass Park as summer months bring more people than ever at an already popular state park.
This beautiful spot is located just a few yards from the main road to the West Beach/Cranberry Lake area of Deception Pass State Park. Can’t wait for the “all clear” that will allow us access to this park once again.
This winding road leads to and from the West Beach area of Deception Pass State Park. Running parallel to the road along the shore of Cranberry Lake is a pedestrian path just inches from water’s edge.
