At play on the bay

Cap Sante is always an interesting place to be, but particularly on Spring and Summer nights when boating activity is heavy. My Wednesday evening visit included opportunity to photograph sailors participating in a race. The skippers likely would have preferred more wind, but for this observe, the weather was perfect!

Air Jaden II

It’s been exciting to see the work of young Anacortes photographer Jaden D’Angelo, especially some of his drone work. These images include an evening shot over Fidalgo Bay and a bird’s eye view of Cranberry Lake at Deception Pass State Park. Enjoy!

Masks on the water

Feathered friends on Fidalgo Bay

Another beautiful fall morning on Fidalgo Bay! A therapeutic walk on the Tommy Thompson Trail, including the former railroad trestle from March’s Point. Among the birds I saw were blue herons, ducks, loons, killdeer and hawk. Placid waters and morning light made for a natural “studio” setting.

Sailing back in time: May 2006

This was a wonderful evening. I set up on the rocks at the end of 5th Street. Then the parade of sailboats got under way, Mt. Baker providing the perfect backdrop. Seems like only yesterday!
