Blues and grays, incredible feather patterns, impressive wingspan … the Great Blue Heron is always a fascinating subject for the Northwest photographer. These photos were taken as this heron moved from position to position searching for food in the waters of an Anacortes beach.
Things were pretty quiet this morning in terms of shorebird activity, but this great blue heron perched high in a pine tree seemed happy to provide the opportunity for some wildlife photos.
