If the forecasts are correct, this warm gold will become a deep blue as the heat builds today. I was blessed with this view of Mt. Baker Friday at 5 a.m.
I wasn’t the only one who decided on this beautiful Northwest day to spend part of my lunch hour at Cap Sante. This was the view looking to the northeast across Fidalgo Bay.
Picture yourself as this guy coming home to tell his wife: “I had a tough day at the office.” Yeah, right. It was a beautiful morning Monday for work on the Anacortes waterfront, as evidenced by this scene from Dakota Creek Industries (DCI) Shipyard.
Cold, clear winter days present beautiful opportunities for photography. This photo of Shell Puget Sound Refinery and Mt. Baker was taken last week from the shoreline of Fidalgo Bay.
What a gorgeous day to wrap up 2004! I got this shot of a cloud-shrouded Mt. Baker from my front porch Friday morning.
I had errands to run this morning, and once I got out, Mt. Baker called to me. I wasn’t the only one in the Cap Sante neighborhood. I met another digital photographer by the name of J.B. Both of us were drawn to Baker, with the bonus of tugboat activity in Fidalgo Bay. This photo […]
A split form for a yacht stands in the foreground, with Fidalgo Bay and Mt. Baker as a backdrop. A growing boatbuilding industry has provided valuable jobs in our community in the past few years.

We were traveling home on the Guide Meridian near Bellingham when we pulled over for this photograph. I do love this mountain. One of the favorite […]
Fog hung over the city all morning on Monday, finally clearing as the afternoon wore on. This photograph from the corner of Hillcrest and “V” Avenue shows Mt. Baker with refinery wharfs in the foreground.
I’m thinking you can never have too many photos of Mt. Baker, how about you? This shot was taken Tuesday afternoon from Pass Island in the middle of Deception Pass. I had to take the long walk from the Fidalgo Island side to avoid paying the $5 parking fee on the Whidbey side of the […]
What a gorgeous few days it’s been! Yesterday I stepped out onto the front porch to take this portrait of Mt. Baker. I hear from time to time that someone new to the Skagit area has shopped for a home and actually selected a community other than Anacortes. Makes a person wonder…
Salvation Army advisory board members were rewarded for their early start Wednesday morning. It was a beautiful sunrise, starting out with shades of orange, then changing quickly to pinks and blues. The upper level of the Salvation Army Anacortes Corps building on “R” Avenue boasts one of the best views in the community.
