There was a lot of activity at Deception Pass State Park today, as one would expect on a sunny Sunday in October. Among those enjoying the park’s assets was Patrick, a Bellingham resident who traveled to Whidbey for an adventure in his kevlar canoe. Cranberry Lake.

Skagit Pioneer Picnic 2002

Among those attending the August 2002 Skagit Pioneer Picnic were my ex-boss Wallie Funk and shirttail relative Ernie Dahl. Also on hand were Anacortes Mayor Dean Maxwell and Skagit County commissioners Don Munks and Bob Hart. The picnic, held in LaConner, is historically more popular in election years.

Whitney celebrates: June 2007

I don’t recall details. My records simply label this outdoor event at Whitney Elementary School a “celebration.” Lots of music featuring not only students but teachers and administrators.
