Osprey ‘fishes’ shoreline

I had the good fortune this afternoon of watching an osprey “fish” local waters at the Guemes Trail. The tide was out so the action was quite a distance, but I had the opportunity to watch three dives … two yielding fish. It’s always a delight to watch this amazing bird.

Cap Sante is always an interesting place to be, but particularly on Spring and Summer nights when boating activity is heavy. My Wednesday evening visit included opportunity to photograph sailors participating in a race. The skippers likely would have preferred more wind, but for this observe, the weather was perfect!

Teen captures bird’s eye view

This impressive sunset view of coke ship “Santa Johanna” at Port District Pier 2 was taken by Anacortes teen Jaden D’Angelo, whose newest hobby is drone photography.
