Fidalgo Island ‘seahawks’
I photographed three ospreys this morning. Two never left their perches. The seahawk in flight might have been the same bird, a few hundred yards and 20 minutes between photo opps. Gorgeous birds.

Fishing a new spot
Every fisherman moves to a new spot when the action is slow. This blue heron works the rocks on low tide at Rosario Beach, “flying” a few feet from time to time across the water. Fishing was good that morning!

The pace of new construction and home alterations is steady in Anacortes. There were 36 single family residential permits issued in July, compared to 29 in July 2019.
