“Christmasy things” were prominent at the 2018 Anacortes Vintage Show in the Port Transit Shed Event Center. Merchants from far and wide … and local too.
‘Celebration of Trees’ fundraiser: 2007
Christmas past. A few photos from December 2007, when the Island Hospital Foundation and the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce hosted the “Celebration of Trees: Magic of Christmas” fundraising event. The Port of Anacortes was a partner as well, providing the Transit Shed as a venue, and the Ives Family lent Frosty the Snowman cutouts.

City celebrates new arch: July 2005
The Fourth of July 2005 was particularly memorable for Anacortes residents who took part in dedication of a new arch welcoming visitors to this island community. The Chamber of Commerce and City of Anacortes partnered to host a dedication party, followed by a gathering of citizens for the annual “Town Photo” by the Anacortes American.

It’s always fun to break into the archives for photos of Christmas events past. This collection includes scenes from the 2002 Anacortes Lions Christmas Parade. This year the Lions event will be held Saturday, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. in downtown Anacortes.
